CLAUDE.md for a Solo Founder Repo
A fill-in CLAUDE.md that tells a coding agent your stack, your exact commands, what needs your approval and how to report each task, so it stops adding packages and reporting passes it never saw.
Use it when
- You maintain a repo alone or with one other person and use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Antigravity on it.
- The agent keeps making changes you did not ask for, or tells you things passed when they did not.
- You want to come back to a project after weeks away and see what the agent did and did not check.
Skip it when
- Your team already has an agreed rules file. Copy the "Ask first" and "Done means" sections into it instead of starting a second file.
- You want rules extracted from the conventions of a large codebase. The Project Rules Writer skill reads the code and quotes it.
- You only need one change. Put the constraint in that message.
Example
Input: a solo founder's Flask booking app. Placeholders filled with Python 3.12, Flask 3, SQLite on one VPS, uv, uv run pytest -q, uv run ruff check ., protected paths .env and deploy/.
Output excerpt: the filled top of the file, then the closing report from a later session.
