Location Scouter

Test eight to ten settings cheaply, score them on how a person would look there, and turn the winner into a brief that keeps every later shot in the same place.

When to use

  • You are unsure where a video should take place.
  • A project needs one consistent location across many shots.
  • A team wants to compare settings visually before committing.

When not to use

  • The location is fixed and real (your shop, office or street): film it, or describe it closely instead of scouting alternatives.
  • You need an exact real-world place reproduced: Veo makes an impression of it, not a copy.

Example

User: A short film about a jazz pianist's last night before retiring. Moody, intimate. 16:9, Veo 3.1, delivered in 1080p.

Result (abbreviated): T1 · interior · basement jazz club PROMPT: Empty basement jazz club at night, low brick vaulted ceiling, a black upright piano on a small wooden stage, one warm spotlight from above left, round tables with unlit candles, faint haze, wide view from the back of the room, static camera, no people. Sound: air conditioning hum, a distant street. T7 · light variant · the same club at closing time, house lights half up, chairs stacked. WINNER: T1 - the single spotlight shapes a face well and the brick reads as warm, not busy. The runner-up (T4, a hotel bar) had more depth for a walk-in. Palette and wardrobe: brick red, amber, black; dress the pianist in dark blue or grey so he separates from the wall.

Illustrative example; actual output will differ.
