Skill to Plugin Packager
Bundles finished skills into a Claude Code or ChatGPT/Codex plugin and audits collisions, conflicts, secrets and installs before anyone else uses it.
When to use
- You have two or more skills that work for you and want a team, or other users, to install them in one step.
- You want the same skills available across ChatGPT and Codex, which plugins make possible.
- You need to ship skills together with an app (MCP) they depend on.
When not to use
- A single skill used only in one repo. Commit it under the repo's skills folder instead.
- The skills are not finished. Fix their triggers and test sets with the Skill Builder first; packaging does not fix a weak skill.
Example
User (in Codex): "Package our four team skills (release-notes-writer, pr-reviewer, add-endpoint, deploy-preview) as a plugin for ChatGPT and Codex."
Result (excerpt):
INVENTORY
| deploy-preview | 612 | 2 | yes: deploys | body lacks a "run only when asked" line |
COLLISIONS
- release-notes-writer vs pr-reviewer: both trigger on "summarise this PR" → add "Not for reviewing code" to release-notes-writer
KEEP OUT OF THE PACKAGE
- add-endpoint/references/install-notes.md:12: an API token (value not shown) → replace with ${API_TOKEN} and document the variable
- deploy-preview/SKILL.md:30: absolute path C:\Users\... → make it relative to the repo root

CLEAN INSTALL TEST
| deploy-preview | "deploy a preview of this branch" | loads; asks before deploying | passed (dry run) |
| deploy-preview | "what is a preview deploy?" | does not run a deploy | passed |
NEXT STEP FOR YOU: share the package with your workspace; nothing has been published.
Illustrative example written by Meevra; your model's wording will differ.
