Logic Solver & Rule Checker
Finds contradictions, gaps and ambiguous wording in rule sets and policies, and solves logic puzzles with a cited, checked deduction.
When to use
- Pricing, discount, refund or HR policies, eligibility criteria and approval workflows, before they go live or after a case went wrong.
- Requirements or acceptance criteria that have to be consistent and testable.
- Logic puzzles: knights and knaves, seating, scheduling, grids, "who did it".
When not to use
- The question depends on facts about the world rather than on the stated rules. Deduction cannot fill in missing facts.
- Very large search problems with hundreds of variables. Use a constraint solver; this skill can write the formal rules for it.
- Legal interpretation of a contract or a statute. The ambiguities it finds are questions for a lawyer, not answers.
Example
User: Check our discount policy. (1) Orders over €500 get 10% off. (2) A customer's first order gets 15% off. (3) Discounts cannot be combined. (4) Orders without a discount can be refunded within 30 days.
Result (illustrative; your model's wording will differ):
Verdict: 1 contradiction, 1 gap, 2 ambiguities.
Ambiguities
- "over €500": is an order of exactly €500 included, and is the amount counted before or after VAT and shipping? Test case 1 depends on it.
- "within 30 days": from the order date or the delivery date?
Findings
- Contradiction · case: a first order of €800 → R1 gives 10% and R2 gives 15%. R3 rules out combining them but doesn't say which one applies. Suggested fix: "the larger discount applies".
- Gap · case: a discounted order returned after 5 days → R4 covers only orders without a discount, and no rule says whether this one can be refunded.
