Multi-Doc Synthesizer
Turns several documents on one topic into an evidence map: real agreement, conflicts and why they differ, gaps, and a one-page brief.
When to use
- You have three or more reports, studies, policies or articles on one topic, and a decision to make or something defensible to write.
- You need a first-pass literature matrix.
- You suspect your sources disagree and want to see exactly where, and why.
When not to use
- The documents are about unrelated topics. Summarise each one separately instead.
- You need sources beyond the ones you have. Use the Research Diver skill (in this pack) to brief a research tool first, then synthesise what comes back.
Example
User: [uploads 5 documents on four-day work weeks: 2 pilot reports, 1 academic paper, 1 consultancy blog post, 1 union position paper] Should our 40-person agency trial one?
Result (illustrative and abbreviated; your model's wording will differ):
Consensus: staff wellbeing improved during the pilots (Doc 1 §3, Doc 3 §5). Doc 2 (p.12) and Doc 4 quote Doc 1's survey, so this rests on two independent sources, not four.
Conflict: productivity. Doc 1 (§4) reports output held steady; Doc 3 (§6) finds gains only in some roles. Why they differ: method. Doc 1 asked managers for their view; Doc 3 measured output against a comparison group. Stronger evidence: Doc 3. Would settle it: output data from client-facing agencies.
Gap: no document covers client-service firms with fixed response-time contracts, which is your situation.
Credibility: 1. Doc 3 (peer-reviewed, with a comparison group) … 5. Doc 4 (consultancy blog, no data of its own).
Brief: Wellbeing gains are well supported (high). Effects on output vary by role (medium). Impact on client response times is [OPEN]; a trial would need to measure it.
