Research Diver
Turns a vague question into a decision-ready research brief, then checks the research that comes back before you rely on it.
When to use
- You have a broad question ("is the Nordic market right for us?") and are about to run a research agent or a web-research mode.
- A research report came back long and generic, and you can't tell whether it answers your question.
- You need to justify a decision with evidence and want to know which claims to verify first.
When not to use
- The question has a simple factual answer. Just ask it or search.
- You need original data (surveys, experiments, customer interviews) that desk research can't provide. The skill says so and helps you plan the data collection instead.
Example
User: Is Germany a good market for our meal-kit app?
Result, Phase 1 (illustrative and abbreviated; your model's wording will differ):
Decision: whether to spend next year's expansion budget on a German entry instead of growing at home. Changes if: customer acquisition cost in Germany can't get under €60 within 18 months.
Sub-questions
- Is German meal-kit demand growing or shrinking over the last two years? Would change the decision if it is shrinking.
- Who are the three largest competitors, what do they charge, and has any of them exited or merged recently?
- What do comparable direct-to-consumer food brands pay to acquire a customer in Germany?
- Which packaging, food-safety or delivery rules add cost per box?
Source rules: statistics offices and company filings first; label any "market size" figure from a press release; the last two years only; a publication date on every source.
Paste-ready brief (excerpt): "Research the German meal-kit market for a go/no-go decision on entry… Start with a table of every claim, its number, where it comes from, when that was published, whether it is a primary source, and how sure you are. Then give the strongest evidence against entering."
