Task Decomposer

Turns a big, vague goal into milestones and 25-50 minute tasks, with other people's input requested first, a finish estimate and one next action.

Version 3Updated 15 Oct 2026

When to use

  • The user has a large goal (a thesis, a product launch, a migration, a course, learning a skill) and keeps postponing it.
  • A to-do list is full of items like "work on X" or "research Y" that never get done.
  • The user needs to know which tasks actually decide the finish date.

When not to use

  • The job is already small (under about two hours). Give a short checklist or just start.
  • The project needs a schedule for several people with budgets and dependencies across teams. Use a project-management tool; this skill plans one person's focused sessions.

Example

User (illustrative): "I want to start a small newsletter about home coffee roasting. About 5 hours a week."
